My new collection
The Mushy Ones
-
This is a group of paintings I started as an experiment on old canvases. I wanted something freer and faster to create than the shapes paintings. The experiment was a success! They’re made up of layers of mixed media and the best bit - they glow in the dark!!
-
I layer patterened paper, acrylic additives, glue, tissue, fabric, glitter, sand, paint - anything that comes to hand. I have a collection of scrapy instruments and pattern makers that I use to create texture, then I finish it off with more layers of acrylic paint. This is all done using my fingers - no paint brushes needed. It’s messy but very satisfying.
Welcome to my world!
These pieces have all come from inside my head. They pop up whilst I go about my daily life, walking down the road, travelling on the train, sitting in the garden. I like to draw inspiration from the world around me. Nature, science, architecture, maths; everywhere!
Some works develop as I go, some take ages to curate and some have come together quickly as if they were desperate to come into existence.
I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoy creating them.
